A Message From Coach Klein

Dear Parents,

This is a difficult email. This morning at 11:00 am, I will meet will all team members of College Park Tennis. I will inform them, I will be retiring from teaching and will not be returning to College Park HS next Fall.

I respectfully ask that you allow me to be the first to tell them this morning.

My decision was made with much discernment. The time has come for me to reduce my workload and begin part time employment. The duties and demands of the job have caught up to me. I physically can no longer put in the hours required to perform the job.

It has been an honor to be the head tennis coach at College Park this past decade. Thank you for entrusting your student/s to me. I have enjoyed the blessings of working with your students. I leave College Park a blessed man with countless positive memories that will last a lifetime.

My last day of employment will be May 27th. It is important to me for the tennis banquet be a celebration of the season and a tribute to the seniors. The CP administration determined that it was necessary to post my position prior to the regional tournament. My thought was to wait until after the state tournament however, the need to locate the best candidate has taken precedence. I understand and agreed with the administration's timeframe.

The program is in great shape with Coach Risoleo receiving my endorsement. My replacement will not be my decision.

Your booster club president, Belinda Viator and treasurer, Jaqueline Betancourt have done an AMAZING job. They have been a true blessing to me. I have informed them of my decision only minutes before the release of this post. They will need help filling other board positions for the Fall semester. Please support them. Numerous parents and individuals have made my years at CP special. Thank you to all you.

My focus through the end of the school year will be our regional and state qualifier/s and the development of returning team members. Next Fall's schedule is 99% completed. Coach Risoleo will be posting the dates for tryouts in the days to come.

I am not leaving College Park for another high school. My heart is nowhere other than CP. I simply cannot put in the hours necessary to perform this job at the level the job requires. I have been in touch with local tennis clubs and will most likely begin teaching lessons on a part time basis this summer. CP is allowing me to teach a tennis camp at CP this summer.

Finally, I ask you to pray for me as this decision was not easy. I will always love your students and College Park High School.
