COVID Guideline Changes
The following changes in the guidelines regarding positive cases will start next week.
Students who have a positive individual in their household are required to quarantine for 10 days after the date of last exposure unless they meet the following criteria:
Student is fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and shows no symptoms of COVID-19. Fully vaccinated students should get tested 3-5 days after their exposure, even if they don’t have symptoms, and should strongly consider wearing a mask indoors for 14 days following exposure.
Student has had a documented COVID-19 positive result within the previous 3 months, has fully recovered, and remains without COVID-19 symptoms such as cough and shortness of breath.
*Unless a student meets the above exemption criteria, the student must complete the 10-day quarantine period and may not return to school during the isolation period of the positive individual in the same home.Staff ( vaccinated and unvaccinated) who meet the close contact threshold with a COVID-19 positive individual, if they choose not to voluntarily quarantine, must complete rapid testing periodically for 10 days after the date of their last exposure. We are working on a plan to implement this TEA guideline and will have more information next week. Until then, staff may continue to work and should monitor for symptoms and strongly consider wearing a mask.
